Shema a talented and informed dancer. Working as a professional artist for more than a decade, Shema has taught and performed in Europe, North America, Canada , North Africa and the Middle East . She spent two years living with a Bedouin Tribe in Egypt , researching and dancing, but is now based back in the UK . She will resume her international work and also share her extensive knowledge also with the UK
I have seen her grow enormously as a performer and I delight in her return.

Introducing the feisty Dominique V. Flook whose recent performance totally captivated me. She was a regular at our events and is now performing for us for the first time ever. She will mesmerise you too I know!
She is an award winning international performer. Known for her theatrical, engaging and devilishly provocative dance style which incorporates her background training in performing arts. As well as being a sought after performer Dominique also teaches workshops and classes specialising in performance technique.

First time with us is wonderful Hilde Cannoodt Another international Artiste, she is known for her Tribal fusion and may well go beyond that when she performs for us…. She is someone that I have enormous respect for and whom I really admire. A pioneering dancer who has trained thoroughly and extensively and is making an enormous and significant contribution to our local and global dance community and discussion.

This highly acclaimed artist adds the most exquisite lustre to the night and I consider this a seminal moment for us collectively and historically. In great demand throughout the world it is a unique privilege to know that he will take the stage not just for his musical artistry but also for his showmanship.
His craft extends beyond the realms of Arabic Music for he has also worked in the western spheres of music (Led Zeppelin, Genesis). Here he is here in a private clip at one of our informal gatherings. He will truly melt your hearts. He adores the Tarab genre of music and for his own personal pleasure records for his own private collection hundreds and hundreds of songs by famous singers... Here is an example of one of his cds. If you love Egyptian music you will LOVE the cds...

A female Middle Eastern Dj, raised in London and passionate about all genres of Arabic music, who I got to know at Arizona where she is the resident DJ but she also works elsewhere on the Arabic scene.
Her story is an inspiring one and I particularly like the Iraqi brand of music that she plays though she is conversant with all the major hits especially the Khaleegy ones. When she takes the deck at Arizona the floor fills up with exuberance and it delights me to watch people dance with exhilaration

This features Live music, Singing and Honoured Guests
Over the 9 years that Planet Egypt hosted monthly shows many of our dancers and a significant amount of our stars, have been trained by Josephine Wise and are exponents of her discipline (JWAAD). Moreover many of her students, Teachers and Competition winners, are members of our audience so it feels appropriate to honour her and her contribution in this way. As usual we will feature a variety of performances in terms of discipline and style to reflect our usual artistic signature
with Josephine so far are:
Maelle Maelle mainly trains with Josephine Wise and keeps expanding her repertoire to new forms of dance and skills.
She featured in the ‘Ilham Show' by Arabian Dance Theatre in 2009 and then, joined the very prestigious Johara Dance Company (directed by Josephine Wise) presenting "Hoochie Coochie Girls"' show in the UK and France during the summer of 2011.
She is now working with a new award winning Artists collaboration project called "Ahnemon"
"Winner of Bellydance Trophies UK 2011-2012, Maëlle is a performer, teacher and choreographer in London
She is also a much loved member and regular of our audience and it is my great pleasure to see her debut on our stage
Gwen Booth Queen of Props we welcome back a Former Star of Planet Egypt
Gwen is known for her elegant dancing and use of props, blending influences from western theatrical dance with Egyptian bellydance. She has performed and taught across the UK and in Europe and is a tutor on the JWAAD Diploma course for bellydance teachers.
Nuxya After spending time studying drama and theatre arts, Nuxya reignited her passion for dance, exploring jazz and street dance and later performing with an international Bollywood dance company.
Nuxya joined Josephine Wise's acclaimed Johara Dance company in 2007, performing and choreographing pieces in both the Elemental and Hoochie Coochie Girls tours.
She is founder and director of the dance collaboration , who fuse theatre, circus and comedy with all styles of bellydance. Note Anne LOVES Ahnémon , and its lovely that another of our regulars will grace our stage for the first time
Catherine Batholomew First time performing wth us......... -JWAAD trained teacher based in Kent and a National Technique Assessor on the JWAAD faculty. Catherine toured with The Johara Dance Company performing as a troupe dancer and soloist.
And
Norvell is a member of Josephine Wise's Johara Dance Company and toured with the Hoochie Coochie Girls show in 2011. She is also a member of the dance collaboration Ahnémon and feels truly blessed to be able experiment and create unique performances with her fellow Ahnémoniacs. A passionate and captivating performer, Norvell combines strength and power with inherent grace and a subtlety of movement that is all her own.

My twin, has lived in Saudi Arabia (and also Libya). She was active in the Saudi Community and as a result her khaleegy is very much the real thing. She speaks fluent arabic too and is well versed in Arab and Muslim Tradition and practice. An engimatic and charisimatic performer she has loads of moves to enthrall you and a spirit to match.
She is a Great Ambassadress for me having travelled around the world so extensively and speaking nearly all the European languages (including Greek) and also Chinese and Arabic ! She is a terific asset to me as a member of the Team and also as my twin sister!
Anne White
Oh I DO love live music and I could not resist it... The Band leader Emad is amazing and just entices me .... Years ago I worked on the Arab Wedding and party scene. I spent many a night in some of the clubs too. Most notably Cave de Roi (sadly now closed). Its such a blessing to have Good Musicians, and I want to do everything I can to enable them to continue their Artistry and to encourage our Community to experience the nirvana of dancing to live music
I could not easily consider a Party without them, and I hope that you are or will be as captivated as I am.....
Our Live Band - Musicians and Singers: will also be announced shortly and will be led by Band leader: Emad Shaker (Org)
Emad
Emad is a much respected Band leader, classically trained on the Org, he also composes his own music and contributed to the JWAAD cd "Between 2 beaches and the sea" . See here .
He was the Band leader at The Cave de Roi and as one would expect is a leading exponent in his field.
Accompanying Emad we are honoured to present classically trained Emile Bassili on the violin. HIs international reputation adds automatic cachet to any programme. He is an absolute virtuoso who has worked with Oum Kolthoum. It is such a great honour and prestige for us and you will feel the same when you hear him play . You will NEVER forget it.
Singer Wisam classically trained she is a powerful singer with what the leading musicains say is a "crystal voice". There is no higher esteem than this compliment or statement can convey. Her range is vast and she specialises in the Tarab style. I am thrilled that we are able to feature her as she completely captivates me
Singer: Mike Nasser Starr
Lebanese Pop star and Award winning Artist, and New Gun on the Block. He is a powerful singer and you really enjoy his performances. He also writes songs too. He is with us in time to enjoy his Birthday . Yay another celebration! Mike- inte wahid!!!! You are THE ONE!!!!

Performers: This time Arab royalty for us! I thought we should launch with Arabic performers and have chosen them for their fire, passion and skills. I have worked with them both many times and respect them enormously. On stage they give their all and their stage presence alone will carry the day. I know that I can totally rely on them to deliver an amazing night, one we shall all remember for a very long time!
 Nawarra described as a Moroccan She Devil and admired by Fifi Abdou, Nagwa Fouad and Randa Kamel (I was there and I know!) . Exuberant full on dancer trained in the Theatre and Performing Arts, she will entertain and inspire you. Chosen specially as she is loved and admired by our audience she is a welcome addition to our programme
Shafeek Ibrahim Egyptian supremo, he is an Egyptian Dance Master and the youngest male dance talent to come from Egypt. He is an International performer, teacher, choreographer who is renowned for his dynamic performance and excellent teaching skills. He is also is Director of the highly acclaimed Arabian Dance Theatre show. Shafeek is the UK's only professionally trained Arabian Folklore dancer and tanoura artist (Egyptian whirling dervish) . He has over 10 years of professional dance experience. Bursting with fiery energy and an open heart he will give a full on performance worthy of his reputation. One of my favourite performers and one of my best friends. You will love him

Planet Egypt is hosting auditions on Sunday May 27th from 1.30 pm to 6pm
Global Band Oojami are seeking dancers for local, national and international events. Previously they have worked with very high profile dancers such as Khaled Mahmoud, and some of the Belly Dancer Super Stars. They are seeking a number of dancers whom they can work with.
